The ’34 Crabs are on a winning streak, with this past Sunday being their biggest win yet. The team put up 17 points and held True Chesapeake to 4 points. The team was able to utilize what they’ve been working on in practice, and the team showed how hard work pays off! The team came up with a lot of big plays on offense, defense, and faceoffs, which led to numerous goals. The team won 19 faceoffs, with 3 of the faceoffs leading to assisted and unassisted goals. Keagan Castle won 7 faceoffs, with one turning into an assist to Graham Fritze for a goal. Marcus Toner won 4 faceoffs, with one turning into another assist to Graham Fritze for a goal. Briar Cooper won 2 faceoffs, with one leading to his goal. Brecon O’Day and Cam Peichert also each won their faceoffs. There were great ground ball wins from faceoff wings Koa Knapp, Blake Caulder, Keagan Castle, and John Mest.
Many great offensive plays included a bunch of takes at the goal from Logan Woodford, Keagan Castle, CT Stoker, Graham Fritze, Marcus Toner, Briar Cooper, Brecon O’Day, and Henry Koropecky. In addition to goals off faceoff, our defense also added to the goal tally! Koa Knapp scored a pole goal off a ground ball. Most of the team’s goals were assisted, showing great teamwork! In addition to the two assisted goals off of faceoff wins, Graham Fritze scored 3 more goals, assisted by Logan Woodford, CT Stoker, and Keagan Castle. CT Stoker also had a standout game with 3 goals, 1 unassisted and 2 assisted by Barrett Miles and Logan Woodford. Barrett Miles also scored a goal of his own off an assist from Keagan Castle. Another great goal was scored from an intercepted clear by Graham Fritze, who passed it to Logan Woodford. Logan, typically a righty, switched hands and made a great left-handed shot. Henry Koropecky also had a great game with 2 goals. Marcus Toner scored 3 goals, 2 of which were off a play the team has been working hard on during practice.
The team played great defensively, and the ’34s goalie had another great game. Ryder Woodward saved 5 out of 9 shots! Defense played tough through some big shoves. There were multiple turnovers by Tiernan Norman, Hudson Washburn, Keegan McGinn, John Mest, and Koa Knapp. Keagan Castle and Hudson Washburn played some great defense, leading to a ground ball and Koa Knapp’s goal. Briar Cooper got a yard sale with Keegan McGinn scooping up the ground ball and running it down the field. John Mest had a great ground ball leading to a run past the 50 yard line, which led to a goal.
