Overview of our game against the Hawks.

First Quarter: We struggled to clear the ball effectively. When the defense managed to pass the ball to the offense, the offense failed to utilize the entire shot clock, preventing the defense from regaining their energy.  Consequently, we lacked possession for the remainder of the quarter, ending with a score of 2-0.

Second Quarter: Faceoffs became a significant challenge (Good effort, Gavin and Wyatt). Despite playing hard and making mistakes, we managed to perform well throughout the quarter. The offense had good opportunities and dodging attempts, but bad shooting disrupted many of our possessions after the first dodge. The defense had a commendable quarter, but due to the lack of breaks, several shots found their way into the goal, concluding the quarter at 6-1.

Third and Fourth Quarters: These quarters were our best. Everyone played their hardest and showed resilience. The defense performed admirably and never gave up. Although there are areas for improvement, the overall defensive effort was great, and you should hold your heads high. The offense, however, did not have its best game and had much to work on. It’s time to reset and focus on our next game. Great job to everyone today; we have much to work on, and this week’s practice will be an excellent opportunity to improve together.

The 2030 Crabs went into their game against Next Level flying high and ready to try to get the upset win. Sadly, the game did not go their way with the final score being 11-3 Next Level. This gave the Crabs their first loss in HOCO and hopefully their last.

The game started out hot for the Crabs with Nate Synder opening up the scoring with a great shot. Unfortunately, Nate was injured in the second quarter after taking a helmet to helmet hit. We are looking forward to having him back for the next game. In his absence, the other attackman worked hard to create offensive chances, but the Next Level goalie made some fantastic saves. Ben Cravens scored a nice goal off a strong dodge and well-placed bouncer. Kingley Gilliss had the only goal for the Crabs in the second half with a great hard shot.

Alex Levinson led the team in faceoff wins, and Owen Mengel and Alex Levinson led the team with 3 ground balls each. Cannon Griffin, Brady Ward, Owen Mengel, and KingleyGilliss all caused turnovers, fighting hard until the end of the game. Cooper Goloboski and Charlie Rotenberry stood strong in the net, facing an incredible number of fast and furious shots on goal. The team did well clearing the ball in the first quarter, but struggled to replicate this success the remainder of the game.

The 2030 Crabs team is committed to learning from this loss and getting ready for another big game next week against their cross-town rivals, FCA.

Week 3 brought what may be the toughest matchup of the season for the 2031 team, facing Next Level. Crabs got on the board first with a goal from Finn Kernan. The boys set the tone early in the game, that they came to battle and showed that they could compete with the best. Next Level answered back quickly. Quarter two was an even match with Jack Berrier notching his first goal of the game, despite the scoreboard where Next Level went into the half up 3-2.  Lock down defense led by Keegan Moretz, Bradley Crocker, and Tucker Orcel along with goalies Carson McClure and Ryder Radebaugh really gave Next Level a tough time the entire game. Crabs led in ground balls and faceoffs. Still dominating at the dot were Colton Pyle and Teddy Furrer. Some very unlucky penalties later in the game and a rough third quarter where Next Level scored three unanswered. This presented the boys with a big challenge, but they never gave up. Still very much clawing their way back in, Jack Berrier, Finn Kernan and Dylan Keller all tallied one a piece to rally the team. Unfortunately, time was not on their side. The difference maker in this game was taking care of the ball, working it around, and finding the open man. There’s still plenty of lacrosse left to be played. We will absolutely see this team again. The lessons learned in this game are the foundation for our next victory.

The team would also like to give a little shout out to Turner Sadowski. An awesome kiddo and an amazing teammate broke his collarbone in our game week 2. The boys appreciate all his support on the sideline and wish him a speedy recovery!

Crabs vs Team 91  – Hustle Report

Sunday was a big day for Crabs 2032 as they earned their first league win with a 9–5 victory over Team91! It was a full team effort, with standout performances across the field.

Lincoln Copinger (#55) set the tone early with 6 big saves in goal, and the defense worked hard to limit Team91’s chances. On offense, Anders Eberle (#13) scored the Crabs’ first goal after a strong faceoff win by Campbell Toner (#20). Hustle from Brody Girch (#2) helped set up Bowen Drennan (#11) for the first of his three goals, earning his first hat trick of the season. Will Burke (#35) added a hat trick of his own.

Jaxon Taylor (#75) added another goal to his season, and Jameson Forrester (#0) scored his first goal of the season to cap off the Crabs’ win. The defense shut things down over the final 20 minutes, with 5 key saves from Jay Morgan (#34), a clutch CTO from Clive Howell (#6), a goal-saving play from Cort Hopkins (#32), strong clears by Braydon McLaughlin (#21), and relentless ground ball wins across the field.

A great team win and an exciting start to the season!

The 2033 Crabs did not allow the pregame rain showers to dampen their spirits as they looked to improve to 2-1 on the season!  On this cloudy and drizzly day, the team decided that it would dominate play and avoid any chance of going into overtime for a third week in a row.

The goalies, Quinn Nicolini and Nolan Hardesty, both did a commendable job in the cage all day!  Nicolini made a handful of crucial saves in the first half to shut down Prostart.  The defense stepped up and held Prostart scoreless in the first half and had all the answers.  Henry Incontrera was an absolute beast at the long stick midfield position dominating the ground balls between the restraining lines with the help of Rocco Curreri, Bradley Pitts and Truce Frank.  To compliment Incontrera, Holden Lombardi, John Osgood, Harrison Manske, George Zarukaev and Holden Miller all made physical plays on the defensive end to stop the opposition’s offense.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Crabs were rolling all day!  The Crabs 2033 team opened the scoring in the first quarter when Cole Kauffman picked up a loose ground ball and stuck it in the back of the net from short distance.  The second goal demonstrated a perfect tic tac toe passing play from Thomas Mink to Domenic Cardile to Reese Spilker for the goal.  The Crabs would take a 3-0 lead on Spilker’s second goal of the day. The Crabs finished the first quarter up 4-0 after an extra man goal by Mason Posner on a step down bouncer off an excellent feed from Cardile.

The Crabs continued their barrage of goals in the second quarter as Jacob Levinson dodged hard and scored.  Ronan Brown joined in on the fun scoring a goal to make it 6-0 after an excellent look from Mink.  Kauffman then completed his first half hat trick as he scored the next two goals to make it 8-0 Crabs at the half, both assists coming from Spilker!

Prostart would get on the board in the 3rd quarter with an extra man goal making it 8-1.  Crabs answered when Kauffman fed Posner on the crease for a tight finish inside for his second goal of the day.  Tilman Weaver then made a phenomenal diagonal pass to Brown down low who pumped it in the net for his second goal of the day and making it 10-1 Crabs.

In the fourth quarter, Kauffman scored his fourth goal of the game off a pass from Weaver and Vinci Curreri followed with an extra man goal off a feed from Cardile.  Cardile followed his third assist of the game with a goal of his own and Mink closed out the scoring off an assist from Spilker, his third helper of the game.

Final Score:  14-2 Crabs!!!  10 of the 14 goals scored were assisted which exhibits this team’s unselfish offensive strategy and execution.  It was a great team win for the 2033 Crabs and they will look to continue their run to the playoffs when they take on Team 91 next week!

The ’34 Crabs team had an awesome win and completely dominated on all fronts against Team 91. There were great defensive and offensive plays that kept the ball with the Crabs for the majority of the game. On defense, Koa Knapp had a standout game! He blocked a pass that led to a Crab’s goal, intercepted the ball and ran fast down to our side of the field, and had multiple great clears. Hudson Washburn won multiple ground ball matches, leading to awesome clears. John Mest intercepted a critical pass and Tiernan Norman had a great lift that led to a turnover. Keegan McGinn also scooped up a few ground balls with great runs and spin dodges down the field. Our strong defensive lineup showed up, making it a lighter game for our goalie, Ryder Woodward. Even though there were not a ton of shots coming Ryder’s way, he had a great game with 7 out of 9 shots saved!

The Crabs also dominated on faceoff! A few new faces were added to the lineup, which brought some of the most exciting plays of the game. This included the faceoff win by Everette Woodford, who then ran it down for a goal. Overall, there were faceoff wins by Briar Cooper, Marcus Toner, Keagan Castle, and Everette Woddford. Some really strong faceoff wings won the ground ball matches as well, including Cam Peichert, Brecon O’Day, Marcus Toner, and Hudson Washburn playing LSM.

The Crabs also dominated offensively! There were some really great takes at the goal made by Barrett Miles (getting multiple looks), Briar Cooper, CT Stoker, Marcus Toner, Graham Fritze, Henry Koropecky, Logan Woodford, and Everette Woodford. There were a total of 9 shots that connected with the back of the net. Blake Caulder set the tone by scoring the first goal within the first minute of the game. The team had some really great ball movement that led to an assist by Graham Fritze to Everette Woodford for a goal. Henry Koropecky scored an awesome goal from a ground ball win. CT Stoker scored a goal after hustling hard and then followed up with an assist to Marcus Toner. Everette Woodford scored his goal off his faceoff win. Cam Peichert and Marcus Toner both had great assists to Graham Fritze. And, Blake Caulder scored his second goal of the game after a hard-fought ground ball.

Final Score: Hawks 8, Crabs 4

The 2035 Crabs took the field yesterday ready for battle, but it was a tough first half against a fast-starting Hawks squad. After a quiet first quarter that ended 1-0 in favor of the Hawks, the second quarter saw the Crabs struggle to gain momentum, with the Hawks netting five unanswered goals to take a commanding 6-0 lead into halftime. Despite the scoreline, goalie Teddy Nee made several impressive saves to keep the Crabs within reach.

The second half was a different story. The Crabs came out with energy and heart in the third quarter, and with 4:42 left, Matty Kauffman found Benjy Burgess for a beautiful goal to get the Crabs on the board. The offense kept the pressure on, with Patrick Vaughn assisting another goal to Benjy, followed by Benjy returning the favor to Matty for the Crabs’ third goal of the quarter. The Crabs outscored the Hawks 3-1 in the third, bringing the score to 7-3 heading into the fourth.

The defense stepped up in a big way in the second half, led by Cannon Perryman, who was a force with multiple caused turnovers. Griffin Bigos took over in goal and was a wall, keeping the Hawks from running away with it. The Crabs added one more goal by Tommy Schrader in the final quarter but ultimately lost 8-4.

Despite the loss, the Crabs showed grit and growth. The team is improving every week and really starting to come together.
