The Crabs 2029 team had a tough loss this weekend, dropping their fifth game of the HOCO season to Madlax 10-5. The score is not indicative of the course of the day, as Madlax was able to get up early and the boys fought hard the entire game.
Right away Madlax went up 0-4 in the first quarter, which proved to be a hole too big to climb out of. Unable to win faceoffs and trouble in the clearing game kept the ball in Madlax’s possession and they were able to capitalize on our mistakes. In the second quarter the Crabs were able to match their opponents attack and finished the quarter tied 2-2, but overall down 2-6 heading into the second half.
Crabs came out in the second half with more poise and control and again were able to keep it tied ending the quarter 2-2. With lots of up and down the field play and some key defensive stands, Kai Geesaman and Wyatt Lawder were able to capitalize on defensive breakdowns to keep us in the game. With 30 seconds left in the 3rd quarter our defense was able to come up with a crucial fast break stop with good rotations from the defense and a big stop from Matthew Perez in goal. Crabs were starting to feel the momentum shift.
Opening the 4th quarter the Crabs were able to come up with a big win at the X with a crucial ground ball from Will Lutz to set up Jackson Verner for a great overhand lefty shot to close the gap 5-8. However, Madlax would score on their next possession to increase their lead back to 4 and was able to stop our offense the rest of the day.
The 2029 Crabs must move forward and learn from their mistakes quickly as we face another tough opponent this weekend, True Chesapeake. The Crabs are still in the hunt for a playoff spot this year in HOCO and a win this weekend could very well solidify them with the fourth and final playoff spot!

A dominating win for the 2030 Crabs!
Our goal this week was to keep the momentum going after our big win against FCA the weekend before Easter. We controlled Madlax for the entire 4 quarters, and came out with a 9–3 victory. The defense was very strong throughout the game, and even jumpstarted the offense when long-pole Owen Mengel buried the first goal of the game on a great transition play. After this, we never let up. The offense was rolling with nine goals scored by seven different players, with three of these goals being assisted. Goalies were outstanding in this game, both Cooper and Charlie made great saves and great decisions while clearing the ball. Our defense held Madlax to just 1 second-half goal. Overall, it was as close to a complete game as we have played all year.
The fun is in the winning, and at 4-1, this team is having A LOT of fun!

“Success is when preparation and opportunity meet” ~ Bobby Unser
Sunday morning started with a challenge from our coaches to play intelligently aggressively and deliver a stat sheet of: 65% ground balls won, 30+ hard shots, 75% executed clears and less than 10 quality shots by our opponent. Game time arrived late Sunday evening and we delivered – dominating in every aspect of the game and delivering on every one of
our goals.
After a strong week of practice, and well prepared by our coaches, we came out HOT! We scored two quick goals, causing FCA to call an early timeout and continued to take advantage of all scoring opportunities. Dominating the first quarter, the score was 4-0 with Teddy Furrer, Colton Pyle, Trevor Smith and Jack Berrier finding the back of the net. In the second quarter, 2 more goals were added by Trey Grace and Trevor Smith. FCA snuck only 1 goal in during the first half. At half time, the score
was 6-1.
In the third quarter, we had 2 more goals, one each by Trey Grace and Chance Hardesty. FCA was only able to get 1 more. In the 4th quarter, we tallied 2 more goals by Finn Kernan and Chance Hardesty vs. FCA’s 1 goal giving us a final score of 10-3. It was an all-around offensive team effort with assists by Finn Kernan, Colin Lally, Jack Berrier, Trey Grace, and Colin Keller as well as strong plays and ball movement by Dylan Keller.
Our midfield dominated with speed and accuracy. Colton Pyle and Teddy Furer were on fire winning almost every face-off. Grayson Krosnowski’s speed and determination won the team many ground balls. Keeping possession of the ball was key in this game.
Every defensive player stepped up, played smart, and tough resulting in only 3 goals the entire game with Carson McClure and Ryder Radebaugh between the pipes. Despite the lack of threats, the highlight of our defense was holding our opponent scoreless during a 3 minute penalty by our man down unit led by Tucker Orcel, Bradley Crocker, Keegan Moretz, John Lackovic and Teddy Furrer. Max Rae and Pax Devries locked it down with strong defensive plays throughout the game as well.
With this win, the 2031 Crabs are 3-1-1 in the season. Time to get back to work, and be better tomorrow than we were today. Up next, Team 91!

Crabs vs. MadLax – Battle at Every Turn
Crabs 2032 showed something bigger on Sunday—grit, fight, and a team that refuses to back down.
At the faceoff, Campbell Toner (#20) and Brody Girch (#2), along with their wings, helped turn the page on a new chapter. After early struggles this season, Crabs found success winning key possessions and stopping MadLax’s fast-break chances before they could gain momentum.
We generated more shot opportunities than in previous games, pushing harder and faster on offense. Anders Eberle (#13) put one on the board with a finish off a strong feed from Jaxon Taylor (#75), and Bowen Drennan (#11) capitalized on a setup from William Burke (#35). Although the MadLax goalie had a standout day, the Crabs offense kept the pressure high, forcing more saves and showing a major jump in offensive looks.
Defensively, our team also continues to build strength and depth each week, with players across the unit stepping up to make an impact. Fitz Holmes (#60), Clive Howell (#6), Sölden Hall (#71), and Steele Stock (#5) anchored a gritty defensive effort—battling for ground balls, forcing turnovers of possession, riding MadLax’s clears aggressively, and executing clean clears over the midfield line to jumpstart the offense. The grit and hustle across the defense kept us fighting every minute.
In goal, our keepers made 6 big saves in the first half and 6 more in the second, battling through heavy pressure.
We fought for every possession, controlled the faceoffs, cleared with purpose, and made MadLax work for every goal. While the final score showed an 12–2 loss, it doesn’t tell the full story of how far this team has come—rising from AAA to battling fiercely in the Elite bracket.
With two games left, we are fighting our way toward the quarterfinals and will leave it all on the field to earn our ticket into the Elite playoffs.

The 2033 Crabs delivered an impressive all-around performance in 17-3 victory over Bethesda Blue. From the opening whistle, the Crabs set the tone, outmatching Bethesda in every aspect of the game. One of the key advantages was at faceoffs, where the Crabs consistently gained possession, giving their offense ample opportunities to attack. In addition, the Crabs out-hustled their opponents on the ground, securing more ground balls and maintaining strong control of possession throughout the game.
Goalies Quinn Nicolini and Nolan Hardesty provided a dependable last line of defense, combining for a strong showing in the cage and limiting Bethesda to just three goals. Defensively, John Osgood, Harrison Manske, Holden Lombardi, Bradley Pitts, and George Zarukaev were rock-solid, applying relentless pressure and disrupting Bethesda’s offensive rhythm.
The midfield unit, consisting of Jake Levinson, Rocco Curreri, Truce Frank, Henry Incontrera, Thomas Mink, Mason Posner, Tilman Weaver, and Vinci Curreri, dominated both ends of the field. Their ability to win faceoffs, ground balls, and push transition created a steady flow of opportunities for the offense while keeping the pressure on Bethesda’s defense.
On the offensive end, the attack unit of Reese Spilker, Domenic Cardile, Ronan Brown, and Cole Kauffman executed with efficiency and creativity, racking up 17 goals through sharp ball movement and decisive finishes. Their chemistry and aggressive play kept Bethesda’s defense on their heels all game long.
With superior hustle, execution, and teamwork, the Crabs 2033 team proved why they’re a force to be reckoned with, showcasing depth and talent across the field in a statement win.

Crabs 34 vs Madlax 4/27/25
The Crabs 2034s winning streak continues as they move to second place in their division after a hard-fought win against an undefeated Madlax squad. Their 5-4 win was a team effort by all with a great showing on both the defensive and offensive ends. The offense set the pace of the game with a strong start with continued faceoff wins by Marcus Toner and Keagan Castle with hustle and physical play off the wings, Brecon O’Day and Briar Cooper. Logan Woodford got the first goal of the game with an assist by Keagan Castle. He also assisted the second goal by Marcus Toner. The steady play and formidable presence of CT Stoker provided a force that was at many times too much for Madlax to handle.
The Woodford brothers have proven to be a dynamic duo with Logan Woodford scoring the third goal assisted by his brother, Everett Woodford. The attack and midfielders worked as a cohesive unit, with great ball movement by the attack Barrett Miles and Henry Koropecky. Mid-fielder, Blake Caulder had an amazing goal assisted by Graham Fritze.
The defense was on fire! In the third quarter, with three men down, defensive players Hudson Washburn, John Mest and Keegan McGinn stood tall and facilitated the quickest turnover imaginable which was an absolute highlight of the game. Rounding out the team effort with great groundball work and turnovers from Koa Knapp and Tiernan Norman.
As always, goalie Ryder Woodward had a solid performance throughout with multiple saves. Madlax wouldn’t give up with repeated shots but Ryder managed to stuff the same guy twice when he rolled the crease.
Crabs continued to fight hard to the very end. In dramatic fashion, with 90 seconds left, Graham Fritze had the game winner off an assist by Marcus Toner who won the faceoff!
