The Crabs 2029 had an amazing victory for their last game of HOCO together over Team 91 (13-6). This game was a statement game, showing how hard the boys worked to be the named a top team in Maryland.
From the first whistle to the last, Crabs 2029 came out with intensity. The Crabs 2029 defense took control of the game in the first half by applying pressure on and off the ball leading to forced turnovers and many completed clears! The attack played unselfishly and showed leadership by calling their own plays and not relying on the coaches! The midfielders worked hard running up and down the field helping on both sides of the ball creating opportunities and winning ground balls. And we can’t forget about the goalies, who played on their heads only allowing 6 goals in when 5 of them where from man down goals.
Four highlight juice plays that pumped the boys up were Jackson Verners awesome back hand goal, Ethan James great clears, and Will Lutz crazy can opener, causing a YardSale, and Owen Mest’s big hit on the crease. These plays are what get the team, and the parents pumped up. In the third quarter the score was tied 6-6, the boys were low on energy and going into the 4th quarter the team found a little more gas left in the tank. The Crabs 2029 boys locked down on defense, and locked in on offense, scoring 7 more goals to pull out the Victory for the 2029 boys.
Although the 2029s are not in the playoffs even after coming out with a hard-fought win, they are going to continue to get better and improve for the summer tournaments.

The 2031 Crabs had a big game this week versus a strong opponent, Madlax. The Crabs were the first ones on the board with an awesome left-handed goal from Jack Berrier followed by a second goal in the first quarter from Finn Kernan. Unfortunately, those are the only two goals we tallied in the first half of the game entering halftime at 5-2 Madlax. We came out strong in the second half, finding the back of the net two more times with goals from Colin Lally and Colin Keller. Defense held them scoreless in the third quarter, so we entered quarter only down one goal, 5-4. We started the 4th quarter without a faceoff and a Madlax possession due to a 3rd quarter penalty. Madlax came out strong with some big plays in the midfield and got five goals. We were able to find the back of the net two more times from Finn Kernan and Jack Berrier, who were both assisted by Trevor Smith, but time had run out leaving us with a hard-fought loss of 10-6.
With lots of up and down the field playing, the defense was able to make some big stops and slow the ball. Both Ryder Radebaugh and Carson McClure made some big saves in the goal, tallying four each. Caused turnovers were led by Teddy Furrer (2) and Tucker Orcel (2). Teddy Furrer and Trevor Smith led the team with three ground balls each.
The whole team fought hard to get that W for our moms on Mother’s Day but came up short. Back to the grind this week with a newly lit fire just in time for the playoffs. It’s time to leave it all on the field, let’s go Crabs!

In the heartbreaking last two minutes of regulation, Crabs had multiple chances to stretch the lead, but turnovers and trouble cracking the zone stalled momentum. The 2035 Crabs had a great last game of the regular spring season! Crabs won 10-6. The team really came together and we played better and better as the season went on.
Matty Kauffman scored the first Crabs goal of the game and had 3 assists later. The most impressive goal was when the defensive player, Cannon Perryman, got the ball and passed to Benjy Burgess for a goal! Benjy had two other goals. Bowen Scheiner had a cool intercept to goal! Other goals were scored by Eddie Haire, Carter McGettigan, and Tucker Korvin.
The Crabs played really strongly with faceoffs. Peter LaPaglia had tons of ground balls off the faceoff.
The defenders have been working on man-down defense. Harrison Lombardi really did well during the man-down. All of the defenders (Connor Barnaba, Cannon Perryman, and Patrick Holmes) are getting better at man-down.
Good job Crabs! We’ve made so much progress and we are looking forward to our upcoming tournaments, especially traveling to Ocean City.
-Connor Barnaba (48)
