Semi-final vs Clippers
In an exciting semifinal showdown, our team faced off against the Clippers, emerging victorious with an 11-8 win. We started strong, dominating the first quarter and ending it with a 5-1 lead. However, the Clippers put up a good fight, repeatedly attempting to close the gap. Despite their efforts, we kept a comfortable lead, never allowing them to come within three goals of us.
The whole team played amazing and it was definitely a team win. Nate Snyder and King Gilliss were our leading scorers with three goals each, while Mikey Cuches added two more. Ben Cravens, Alex Levinson, and John Rooney each scored one goal too. Our assists came from Slade Ferrara, Ben, and King, showing how well we worked together. From winning face offs, to goalie play, to the 10 caused turnovers by the defense, we knew we had what it takes to come out strong in the championship game against the #1 team in the nation- Next Level. We were pumped to keep this momentum going!
Championship vs Next Level
In our championship game against Next Level, we faced one of the toughest teams in the country. They’re well-coached and rarely make mistakes, so we knew we had to play our absolute best and avoid any errors because they would take advantage of every slip-up. It was an intense match, and we were proud to compete so closely with them. We came out strong and started with a 2-0 lead. They fought back and at the end of the first quarter, they were leading 3-2. We worked together and managed to tie it up by halftime.
As the game progressed, we found ourselves trailing again 7-9, which ended up being the final score. Despite the loss, we played as a cohesive unit. Nate Snyder lead the team with 2 goals. The remaining five goals came from five different players, showcasing our teamwork. Our defense and goalies performed well throughout the game and held them to the least amount of goals they scored all spring. Although we’re sad to see this amazing spring season come to an end, we take pride in how we played and are excited for the summer tournament season ahead. We’ve learned a lot and are eager to build on this experience with our team and all of the families.
Thank you to our coaches who have pushed us to be better than we were yesterday. As Coach K always says, “hard work pays off” and we plan to keep putting the work in. Together.
